round()

Rounds to nearest integer. For numeric, ties are broken by rounding away from zero. For double precision, the tie-breaking behavior is platform dependent, but “round to nearest even” is the most common rule.

Signature

round ( numeric ) → numeric
round ( double precision ) → double precision
round ( v numeric, s integer ) → numeric

Examples

SELECT round(42.4);
42
SELECT round(42.4382, 2);
42.44
SELECT round(1234.56, -1);
1230
